Rockworks climbing wall systems are designed to provide the most advanced range of options currently available. The range includes realistic, simulated rock surfaces and the dynamic geometry of modular competition walls. For maximum variety in route setting and continuous adaptability all climbing wall systems are equipped with a network of fixing points for interchangeable bolt on and inset holds.

Realform

The Realform climbing surface represents a "state of the art" development in climbing wall construction and realistically captures the 3D complexity of natural rock.

This system can be used to create any type of climbing wall from free-standing boulders and towers to competition and lead walls. Every wall is uniquely designed to suit the clients requirements and an extensive variety of features which replicate real rock can be incorporated into the climbing surface. Bolt on and inset holds can also be included to complement the permanent features and provide continuous flexibility in route setting.

The walls are sculpted from resinous concrete on a flame-retardant fibreglass base by a team of highly experienced craftsmen and climbers. An extensive variety of climbing features can be created, including cracks, tufas, pockets, and flakes. Smaller features such as foot smears and finger edges are then added and a final surface coating is applied to enhance the overall texture.

The Realform system can create the most realistic and aesthetically appealing climbing wall surfaces currently available. Highly featured walls and the smoother, three-dimensional curves of a competition lead wall provide exciting technical challenges for climbers of all standards.

Plyform

Plyform provides the most versatile and cost effective climbing wall system. The climbing panels are manufactured on an 18mm plywood base and are provided with a variety of customised surface finishes. These walls also incorporate a high degree of variability in the combination of surface features with a network of fixing points for bolt on holds.

Plyform climbing walls can be designed for all requirements from highly featured slabs for beginners to the smooth curves of an overhanging competition wall.

High-relief Plyform panels incorporate a range of large features including flakes, pockets, cracks and flowstone formations. Bolt-on holds can be fitted to these panels at an average density of 5 per square metre.

Standard Plyform panels are provided with smaller features including foot smears and finger edges and a dense network of fixing sockets (up to 22 per square metre) for maximum variety in route setting using bolt on holds.

Textured Plyform panels are economic and versatile with a high friction surface and 22 placements per square metre for bolt on holds.

These panels are ideal for use in combination with Rockworks screw on macro features creating a multi-dimensional surface for more challenging climbing.

Transform

Transform provides an interchangeable wall system, offering the ultimate in flexible wall design.
Transform is a moulded panel system incorporating integral surface features.
Rockworks have developed a new method of custom moulding features into the surface of these panels. This allows each Transform panel to have its own individual combination of permanent climbing features.

The main advantage in this new technique over traditional moulded climbing surfaces is that the predictability associated with existing cast systems is eliminated, producing a unique climbing experience on every Transform climbing wall.

The Transform panels can be manufactured in both flat and curved units which when combined offer a range of climbing wall profiles to challenge all abilities. The panels are complemented by the addition of bolt-on holds and inset discs for extended variety and adaptability.

Bolt on Hold Wall System

This is the simplest method by which to create a climbing wall. This cost effective system can be employed on any structurally sound surface, and involves the installation of a grid work of threaded sockets into which the holds can be fixed. Given suitable structural conditions a belay bar or lower-offs may also be installed.

Pupils at Selwyn junior mixed school,in the London Borough of Waltham forest, enjoy their external climbing wall with its striking mural of sea and mountain.
